ITALIAN SOCIETY OF UROLOGY
Founded in 1908 and later reestablished in 1921, the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) is the oldest and most authoritative scientific society in the field of urology.
At present, the SIU has about 2,000 members.
The SIU signed an agreement with the European Association of Urology (EAU) on January 1, 2003, whereby all members of the SIU automatically become members of the EAU. As such, the European Urology journal has become the official publication of the SIU.
This agreement is unprecedented in the international scientific community, giving the SIU a leading role in European research. Indeed, it is the first example of a united Europe not only in terms of currency, but also with respect to scientific endeavor.
ITALIAN SOCIETY OF ENDOCRINOLOGY
For more than 45 years, the Italian Society of Endocrinology (SIE) has been the leading scientific society in the field of endocrinology. It is responsible for all endocrinology professorships and specialty establishments in Italy.
The SIE has approximately 1,400 members, 40% of whom are young specialists under the age of 35.
The official publication of the SIE, the Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, is widely referenced and appreciated across the world.
Italian endocrinology and the SIE represent excellence on a global scale.
